58 minutes for Ampadu, cameo for Kovacic – Chelsea International updates

The international break has become a bit of a burden for those with a love of club football, but it’s even worse for Chelsea fans right now for a couple of reasons.

One is the fact they always seem to get injuries to key players recently, and another is because their side is on a 4 game winning streak and have gathered some solid momentum for the first time under Frank Lampard.

Michy Batshuayi will probably be having similar feelings about the break right now as well, having not gotten any game time for Belgium’s 9-0 thrashing over San Marino last night.

Ethan Ampadu got a much needed 58 minutes for Wales as they drew with Slovakia. The 18-year old started in holding midfield, got booked, but made a world class block to stop a certain goal after 11 minutes.

Mateo Kovacic got a cameo 20 minutes for Croatia and helped his side see off Hungary winning 3-0.

Whilst Tariq Lamptey had a good game for the England under-20s and got 90 minutes, as did Billy Gilmour for Scotland under-21s. Both matches ended in a draw.
