Dion Dublin was speaking in the post match coverage of Chelsea against Liverpool, and he raised an interesting point about the VAR decision that cost the Blues a goal.
As he pointed out, not only did it take Chelsea’s score off the board, it also disrupted their concentration, leading to them conceding a goal not long after.
“They’re not organised,” he observed of Frank Lampard’s defenders at the corner just after the goal was ruled out. It’s true that the psychological effects go well beyond just being a point behind. In a flash it was two, and despite our best efforts, we weren’t able to get level.
