Callum Hudson-Odoi returned to action for Chelsea’s Development side yesterday evening – and it didn’t appear as though there was any rust that needed to be shed.
Hudson-Odoi’s recovery has been a shorter process than first anticipated. Both his age, and the severity of the achilles rupture, appear to have worked overwhelmingly in his favour.
The teenager returned to the field of play yesterday after ‘just’ five months on the sidelines, and seeing him in action it’s difficult to believe that he is returning from a long-term injury.
Here’s the full highlights of Hudson-Odoi’s performance against Brighton U23s yesterday night. While it’s not quite Premier League level, he looked head and shoulders above the rest.
There also did not appear to be any weakness in his achilles whatsoever, which is excellent to see. It can only be a matter of time before we see him back in the Chelsea starting XI.
