Ross Barkley just doesn’t help himself does he.
He always seems to be at the centre of bad news, whether it was painting the town red with Danny Drinkwater earlier this year, or the unfortunate penalty business earlier this month.
Now it’s more backpage gossip, with the Mirror today carrying an exclusive showing the midfielder being escorted to a cash point to get money to pay a cab driver, apparently unhappy about chips being spilt all over his cab.
A witness quoted by the tabloid said he “appeared to be very drunk and was unsteady on his feet.”
So he was drunk and eating chips. It’s not a great look for someone who hasn’t always performed on the pitch, and faces a battle for his place right now.
We’re not sure if Frank Lampard reads the Mirror, or indeed this website, but if he does he won’t be delighted to see his player landing himself in hot water, not for the first time this year.
