Another Ross Barkley performance last night, and another social media reaction of fans giving their varied views on the midfielder.
The 25-year old started his second match in a row for England and is clearly rated by manager Gareth Southgate.
His performance on the whole was very Ross Barkley, at least the Ross Barkley that Chelsea fans are getting used to seeing. He would pull out a piece of brilliance, like winning the penalty for example. But he was also very quiet throughout and was half at fault for Kosovo’s first goal after making a poor pass back to Michael Keane.
But Barkley has been like that since joining Chelsea and many Blues fans believe he is just not good enough.
Whilst others believe he is good enough, but he is just not playing with confidence and freedom at Chelsea yet, but feel Frank Lampard can help change that.
Some England fans though, clearly do not rate him at all judging by these tweets…

Southgate needs to stop treating these qualifiers as Ross Barkley’s testimonial match

things we learnt from watching England today:
– Michael Keane is the next Ryan Shawcross.
-United got bullied into paying £85 million for Maguire.
-Ross Barkley is a championship player at best.
-Raheem Sterling has turned the media from hating on him to sucking him off.— chaz (@ceedarg) September 10, 2019
