Reece James and Hudson-Odoi to play under 23s, Lampard reveals when they are back for him

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James will be on route to Southampton today, getting ready to face their under 23 team in the 3pm kick off as both continue their injury recoveries.

Frank Lampard has confirmed that both youngsters will play for the Chelsea under 23s today, but that is likely to be the last time, as reported by Goal.

The Chelsea manager has confirmed that both James and Hudson-Odoi are likely to ‘play a part’ in their match in midweek in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town.

Hudson-Odoi has just signed a new long term contract at Chelsea, as revealed by the club this week.

This news was greeted by celebrations from Chelsea supporters across the globe that know the quality he has and are desperate to see him back in the first team.

Let’s hope that both players come through their final match fitness test successfully today and can both be added into the first team squad going forward.
