One name in Serie A that should be turning the heads of Chelsea scouts

We’re still in the very early stages of the 2019/2020 season, and you can’t conclude too much from stats at this stage. But Chelsea’s scouts are always watching, and when they have a hole in the team like we do at the moment, they should be ready to swoop when the opportunity presents itself.

Increasingly the feeling is that both Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma have both had ample chances to impress for us, and neither is really showing the ability to be our centre back long term. There are plenty of potential replacements playing across Europe, but if you look at the top performers under the age of 25 this season (given that that is the way we tend to sign players now), one name stands out.

Kevin Bonifazi was excellent on loan at SPAL last season, and has kept up that good form back at parent club Torino in their two Serie A games so far too.

The Italy U21 international looks a class act, and we should be keeping a close eye on him for the the rest of the season, with an eye for a summer swoop.
