No Chelsea discipline for rogue midfielder

Chelsea will not discipline Danny Drinkwater after his reported involvement in an incident at a night club last weekend, according to The Daily Mail.

The publication reports that Drinkwater is out injured for three weeks after ‘being battered outside the club by six men’.

The on loan Burnley midfielder allegedly tried to ‘take home the girlfriend of a Scunthorpe United player’.

An attack on Drinktwater reportedly happened outside the venue after a row ensued, and the 29-year old England international had his ankle stamped on by the six men.

It’s not the first time he has been involved in a drink related incident, having been banned from driving for 20 months after being found guilty of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol.

The Mail also report that Burnley are unlikely to terminate his loan with them, even though Chelsea are leaving the disciplinary side with them.

Drinkwater will hope to put this behind him and continue his stuttering football career.
