Michy Batshuayi’s ridiculous record against EFL teams

Michy Batshuayi got onto the scoresheet early tonight, adding Chelsea’s second against Grimsby before the ten minute mark had passed.

As Goal.com journalist Nizaar Kinsella pointed out, he adds the team from League 2 to an illustrious (well, long) list of names of EFL clubs that he’s scored against.

Since he arrived at the club, when he’s not been on loan the striker has mainly been used in these situations – skewering EFL clubs in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup.

Just look at some of those names… some of them are even in the Championship! If only the Belgian forward could produce the same against some larger teams. Certainly he’s got a battle on making his way past Tammy Abraham in the pecking order. He seems he has established himself at least ahead of Olivier Giroud in Frank Lampard’s thinking, but it’s against more than just the EFL clubs he has to make his name.
