Jamie Vardy tells hilarious N’Golo Kante story from his Leicester City days

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has told a story about our very own N’Golo Kante that absolutely nobody will be surprised by.

Vardy played alongside Kante during Leicester City’s odds-defying Premier League title win back in the 2015/16 campaign, which would not have been possible without the Frenchman’s influence.

In fact, his departure served as evidence of his quality, with Leicester tumbling down the table and Chelsea, under new boss Antonio Conte, storming back to the Premier League top spot.

While Kante is evidently a naturally gifted footballer, it’s his attitude that makes him the player that he is. Vardy has now told a story which testifies to that.

The Leicester hitman is quoted by Football London saying:

“In training, it was so easy for him that I was convinced that he intentionally gave the ball away sometimes just to enjoy winning it back again. One day he said to us that he was seriously considering running to the training centre each day, which came from the fact that he would always add a little running session for himself. In the moment, we were all a bit taken aback and convinced him not to. In any case, each time that we saw him arrive at training with his Mini Cooper, we were reassured.”

We’re sure that Kante would run from Cobham to Stamford Bridge on a match day if he could, such is his commitment to staying at the peak of his extraordinary fitness levels.

And of course, a Mini Cooper. Why are we not surprised?
