Good news and bad news for Chelsea fans after latest Emerson injury update

Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri is a doubt to face Wolves in the Premier League this Saturday after sustaining a hamstring injury on international duty for Italy, according to The Daily Mail.

Emerson was taken off after just 8 minutes in Italy’s 2-0 win over Finland this week and concerns mounted over the seriousness of the injury.

The Chelsea left back immediately put Blues fans at ease by posting on Twitter that the injury was only small and not serious.

Chelsea fans will be facing the fact that Marcos Alonso may well get a chance to start the match on Saturday, with Emerson likely to be rested as a result of the small injury.

But the good news for Blues fans is that The Mail believe Chelsea are confident that the hamstring injury isn’t a major scare.

This will be music to the ears of Chelsea supporters who have witnessed the Italian become one of their top performing players so far this season.
