Frank Lampard not ready to risk Emerson after Italy injury

Emerson Palmieri’s injury is not serious, but Chelsea’s coaching staff don’t want to risk him this weekend against Wolves when Marcos Alonso is a decent alternative, according to reports in the tabloids last night.

The Daily Mail wrote that the left back’s hamstring problem, picked up a few minutes into Italy’s game with Finland, has recovered well, but will still rule him out of the clash at Molyneux.

That’s a blow for Frank Lampard. Emerson has been one of our best players this season. But Alonso has shown before he can be a good option, and he might just suit this setup.

We go into the game weaker then, but if we can get the goals we’ve managed in recent games we will be fine. Antonio Rudiger way well now be back to solidify the back line, and if we’re lucky, N’Golo Kante too.

That should be enough to beat even a very talented Wolves team.
