Chelsea’s clean sheet barren run ticks over to seven after Valencia net at the Bridge

Chelsea have not had much of a problem finding the back of the net in recent weeks, but our defence threatens to derail our top four chances.

With Valencia finding the back of Kepa Arrizabalaga’s net at Stamford Bridge this evening, it meant that Chelsea have been unable to keep a clean sheet in any of their seven games so far this campaign.

That is, quite frankly, not good enough, especially if we have serious ambitions on challenging at any fronts this season. We have to tighten up at the back or we will fall miserably short this season.

Only Norwich City have conceded more goals than us in the Premier League this season, and tonight’s game was yet another case of us giving away cheap goals completely unnecessarily.

Seven games and no clean sheets is nowhere near good enough, no matter how many goals your strikers are contributing. Frank Lampard has to find the solution, and fast.
