Why Chelsea won’t be missing 8 players for this weekend’s clash with Wolves

Some sites have really run with the idea that there’s going to be major issues, with the number of absentees becoming pretty competitive.

Everyone does their own maths in an effort to produce the most impressive number of possible players missing, with The Sun winning the race (as far as we can tell) by naming 8 possible Chelsea players who could miss out against Wolves.

They name Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi, N’Golo Kante, Pedro, Reece James, Antonio Rudiger, Mateo Kovacic and Emerson Palmieri as possible absentees for the trip to Molineux.

But the reality is that the chances of them all being out is tiny. While we can almost certainly rule out RLC and Reece James as being too far from fitness to play, all of the other SIX have some chance of playing.

Antonio Rudiger has been ready for some time, and has played games for the U23s. Emerson, Pedro and Kovacic all have minor knocks – maybe each of them them has a 50% chance of featuring.

Callum Hudson-Odoi could be ready for the bench, and N’Golo Kante’s status is a mystery – he might be totally ready or out for a while, who knows?

Either way, there’s still several days from now for anyone to work their way back.

While there are a lot of question marks over our team for this weekend, it would be a real shocker if we were as down to the bare bones as some people would like to imagine.
