Chelsea v Valencia provides four young Blues with their Champions League debuts

Chelsea’s clash with Valencia at Stamford Bridge this evening has provided Champions League debuts for four of the club’s younger players.

The Champions League is what every up and coming player would deem ‘the big time’, and three of the club’s academy products have been fortunate enough to get their first appearance in the competition under their belts tonight.

They are Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount, all of whom appear to have worked their way into Frank Lampard’s preferred starting eleven – regardless of what competition we’re competing in.

It’s also a Champions League debut for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who remarkably, has only previously featured in the Europa League for Athletic Bilbao and Chelsea.

Let’s hope the four of them can make it a winning start this evening, and be one step closer to having a medal around their neck at the end of their first campaign competing in the Champions League. That’d be nice, wouldn’t it?
