Chelsea open talks to renew the contract of in form defender

Chelsea are working on a deal to renew the current contract of defender Fikayo Tomori until 2024, according to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira.

The Blues have recently extended deals for a number of their young starlets and recently confirmed the 5-year extension of Callum Hudson-Odoi last week.

The club appear to be building for the future and finally leaning on talented youngsters from within their own academy.

Tomori was the Derby County player of the season last year whilst on loan from Chelsea. He was working under his current Blues manager Frank Lampard.

Lampard has continued to put his trust in the 21-year old this season. Tomori has started the last three matches for Chelsea and has been one of the standout performers.

Despite his team losing 2-1 against Liverpool yesterday, Tomori was once again the talk of the town gaining praise from pundits and supporters alike after another class showing in Chelsea blue.
