Chelsea legend Branislav Ivanovic names the one person Chelsea need back

Branislav Ivanovic has legendary status at Chelsea having spent 9 years as the club and was a massive part of their big success over that time.

The 35-year old clocked up close to 400 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions scoring 20+ goals along the way.

He is now seeing out his playing days at Zenit St Petersburg, but his most fondest memories will always remain in London and Stamford Bridge.

The big Serbian international would always play for the badge and put everything on the line every time he went out onto the pitch for Chelsea. This is something that his former Blues team mate and now current manager Frank Lampard is trying to bring back into the current setup.

But Ivanovic believes there is something [or someone] missing from the setup at Chelsea right now and he believes that the club need him back. That’s owner Roman Abramovich, who has UK Visa issues stopping him from continuously being in the UK.

Speaking to FourFourTwo, as reported by Goal, Ivanovic said:

“This is a new Chelsea team. The club didn’t have the perfect season last year, but still finished third.

“Chelsea need Roman Abramovich back. That’s the most important thing for all the fans. We want to see him at Stamford Bridge, then Chelsea will be among the best teams in Europe once again.

“He’s been one of the most important people in my career, and I appreciate everything he’s done for me. Whenever I had a difficult moment at Chelsea, he always believed in me. I owe him a lot.

“Chelsea was the best part of my career and a massive part of my life. I was so happy in London and am proud to have been there for such a long time.”
