Chelsea have lowest average goalscorer age in Europe’s top five leagues

A stat posted by Opta in wake of our win over Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday shows just how bright the future for us could be under Frank Lampard.

Chelsea netted five past the now Europa League competing Wolves side, who had not been defeated on their home turf since January of 2019.

Goals from Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount proved the difference on the day, continuing our run of having only academy graduates score in the league this term.

That has left our average goal-scorer age looking quite remarkable, as Opta revealed on Twitter following our win at Molineux yesterday afternoon.

Chelsea are the outright leaders across Europe’s top five leagues when it comes to the having the lowest average goal scorer age in the league – and it’s no surprise, in truth.

Tammy Abraham has scored seven goals in his last three appearances, while Mason Mount has also now netted three in the league. These boys are utterly incredible.
