Chelsea academy have snapped up former Blues strikers’ son

The Chelsea academy is one of the best in the world and is known for producing great talent.

It has been revealed that the son of former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko is training at the Blues academy.

12-year old Kristian Shevchenko was born and raised in London and will even be eligible to play for England if he chooses to do so.

His father Andriy was playing for Chelsea around the time he was born and once celebrated a goal with the ‘cradle celebration’ to mark the birth of his son.

Shevchenko joined Chelsea from AC Milan in 2006 for £30 million, as reported by The Daily Mail.

His move to Chelsea was largely considered a failure after only managing to score 9 goals in 48 appearances during his three years at the club.

However, he remains closely connected to the club and has settled in the area since arriving there all those years ago.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Shevchenko confirmed his son Krisitan is training with Chelsea.

He said:

“I have been living in London for the past 13 years. My family is there, it’s convenient there, plus I wanted my children to go to school there.

“My second son is training at Chelsea Academy.

“This is a very good school, which brought up more than a dozen players of excellent level.”
