Calm after the storm – Chelsea player gives positive update after injury scare

Chelsea supporters feared the worst last night as left back Emerson Palmieri limped off after playing just 8 minutes for Italy during the international break.

Concerns began to fly through the world of social media and immense panic erupted. Some Blues supporters were not overjoyed by the fact they might have to see Marcos Alonso starting the next few matches.

However, the injury that was initially reported as a ‘muscle strain’, might not be as serious as some first thought.

The 25-year old Italian took to Twitter himself in the early hours of this morning to reassure concerned supporters, stating that the injury was just a ‘small injury’, and assured that it was ‘nothing serious’.

Italy were playing Finland in a European 2020 qualifier which they ended up narrowly winning 2-1, with Emerson’s team mate Jorginho slotting home a late penalty after Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki scored an equalising penalty just before.

Blues fans will be eagerly awaiting news on whether Emerson will be fit the face Wolves this weekend.
