Barcelona could land Chelsea winger for £55 million less than they offered last season

Barcelona are reportedly looking to renew interest in signing Chelsea winger Willian, who will be available on a free transfer next summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

As cited by The Sun, Spanish chiefs are preparing to offer Willian a deal in January – 18 months after they had a £55 million bid rejected by Chelsea.

It had been reported by many publications at the time including The Evening Standard, that Chelsea and Willian had agreed a new contract, but there has since been nothing new on this and one would assume these talks have broken down.

Willian will be free to speak to other clubs in January and arrange his next move, due to his deal with Chelsea running out in the summer.

Frank Lampard has been selecting the Brazilian international as a regular in his squad in recent matches, but the 31-year old wont be seen as part of the long term project at the club so might well be seeking a new venture.
