£36m man could be the answer to Chelsea’s defensive woes

With the transfer ban now more than halfway done, Chelsea can start looking in earnest at players to buy next summer. It doesn’t sound like they’re messing around, and we could make a real splash after two windows of abstinence.

One target being linked to us from the hotbed of footballing talent that is Brazil is Bruno Guimaraes. The Sun even go so far as to say we’ve watched him FIVE times, which is surely enough to get the measure of anyone.

He’s a defensive midfielder who would be a great anchor in this rather vulnerable looking team.

He is priced at £36m according to that paper, and we would have to fight off some serious competition from around Europe to get him in. Although a rumoured released clause at that value would make our lives easier – if it’s real.

Either way, the 21 year old looks a quality player, and with another season of playing in his home country he could develop even further.
