There’s been major movement on the future of Davide Zappacosta…
Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Chelsea and AS Roma have reached an agreement over a loan deal for the right-back, who will be joining the Serie A side subject to a medical.
Zappacosta has been on the fringes at Stamford Bridge ever since he signed, with Cesar Azpilicueta never having to worry that his starting spot at right-back was under any real contention.
The Italian now appears set to leave Chelsea in search of first-team football, with Fabrizio Romano claiming on Twitter that the loan deal is as good as done. He will be a Roma player.
Davide Zappacosta to AS Roma, here we go! Agreement reached with Chelsea for a loan until June 2020. He’s going to have medicals on this week. 🔵 #CFC #Chelsea #Roma #transfers

This is yet another demonstration of the faith that Frank Lampard has in impressive academy product Reece James, who looks set to push Azpi for minutes on the right-flank of the defence.
We wish Zappacosta all the best in the future and thank him for the role that he played in our triumphs in both the FA Cup and Europa League during his time as a Chelsea player.
