Willian’s return to the field for Chelsea this afternoon was only ever going to mean one thing – the onslaught of criticism from fans on Twitter rolling on.
The Brazilian has been the scapegoat of the Chelsea fan community for some time now. It’s often been warranted, but of course has been taken too far on occasion.
For every Chelsea fan who thought that Willian was not up to standard prior to today’s match, his appalling cameo will have only served to reinforce that standpoint.
Willian was only on the field of play for 23 minutes in total, but that was enough time for him to enrage what was seemingly the entirety of Chelsea Twitter.
Here’s how some Chelsea fans reacted to what was a truly dreadful showing from the winger on his return to action from a hamstring injury.
What do you think, Blues? Is this too far? Or is it warranted?

Willian should never be seen in a Chelsea shirt again.
One of the worst cameo’s I’ve ever seen in a shirt…. and he didn’t even play midweek.

Willian has put in another 0/10.
How does anyone rate him?

This Willian performance. I feel sick.

I genuinely forgot how frustrating Willian is man. He cannot cross, he cannot pass a ball, he cannot get past someone, he ruins every counter.
This is our number 10. Shambolic.
