Chelsea beat Norwich 3-2 at Carrow Road yesterday, and while the focus was on the homegrown goalscorers, there was also a really solid showing from Mateo Kovacic in the middle of the pitch.
The interviewer described him as “awesome”, and it was hard to disagree. He played the ball perfectly and broke up counter attacks in the absence of N’Golo Kante. It was this balance of talent and hard work that clearly has Frank Lampard’s attention, as you can tell from the way he spoke to the official Chelsea channel after the game.
