Unwanted Brazilian could still make late move to Europe – and even sign a new contract

Many were expecting Kenedy would be one of the slew of loanees to depart Stamford Bridge in the last few weeks, but he’s still clinging on.

The Brazilian was on loan at Newcastle last season, and didn’t do too much to impress after a bright start. He made a few decent appearances for Frank Lampard’s new look Chelsea team this summer in the early preseason friendlies, but the Brazilian has dropped further back in the pecking order since.

With Callum Hudson-Odoi now seemingly closer than ever to a return, it doesn’t sound like the former Fluminense man fancies his chances, and Goal.com today reported that a move before the European transfer deadline is likely.

That’s a sensible move, and we might even see an unexpected contract extension. As the Evening Standard reported with Davide Zappacosta’s contract yesterday, an extension followed  by a loan is a great way for Chelsea to keep their asset’s price rising rather than watching them walk away on a free.
