How one of Chelsea’s strikers can secure Lampard’s trust this week

Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud seem to be the two players competing to start for Frank Lampard this season, and both will likely get their chance this week.

Tammy played on Sunday against Manchester United, and Olivier will surely play at least one of the two upcoming games this week, having also come on in the United game.

Lampard appears to have opted for Abraham because of his superior ability to join in the press, and he did run enthusiastically.

But he didn’t hold the ball up too well, or play his teammates in with as much quality as Olivier Giroud might have.

The conundrum will go on for Frank until one of the two settles in as number one. It would only take Tammy a couple of goals to convince the fans to give him a bit of time, but until he starts scoring the pressure to play the more experienced Giroud will only grow.
