Mason Mount’s mightily impressive stats from Chelsea’s draw with Leicester

Chelsea may not have been able to pick up their first win of the season against Leicester City yesterday, but there was one huge positive to be taken from the contest – Mason Mount’s excellent performance.

When young players begin their lives in the Premier League, especially at a club of Chelsea’s stature, you can forgive them for needing some time to transition and adapt to the competitiveness of the league.

Mount, however, has needed no time at all to adapt, as he showed against Leicester yesterday, with the Foxes likely to be pushing for a Europa League finish under Brendan Rodgers this term.

Not only was Mount able to find the back of the net for the first time as a Chelsea player, but his numbers across the board were mightily impressive. Have a look at this, which was posted by Squawka on Twitter.

If he’s able to sustain this level of performance throughout the season, he may well force his way into Gareth Southgate’s thinking ahead of the European Championships next summer!
