Chelsea loanee’s temporary teammates hail his influence – despite language barrier

Lewis Baker’s Fortuna Dusseldorf teammates have hailed the influence of the midfielder – even if they are unable to understand a word that he says.

Baker really needs a successful loan spell this season if he wants to have any chance of making it at Chelsea. He’d admit it himself, he’s really up against it at this point.

The Englishman, who is currently on loan at Bundesliga outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf, has wasted no time making an impression on his new teammates in Germany.

Both club captain Oliver Fink and defender Niko Giesselmann are quoted by Inside Futbol putting on record Baker’s influence, even with the language barrier:

“I like it when he talks, even when it’s hard to understand. It is something different. We’ve never had something like that here.” – Oliver Fink

“Lewis pushes us in the dressing room before training and games. No one understands him, but we all know what he means. On the pitch there are no communication problems.” – Niko Giesselmann

Baker is one of the most two-footed players we’ve ever seen and has raw, natural talent. Now’s the time for him to bring it all together and fulfil his full potential.

Only time will tell if he will be successful in doing so this campaign…
