Frank Lampard in stands as Chelsea U23s wipe floor with Liverpool U23s

Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard was in attendance at Stamford Bridge last night to watch our U23 side take on Liverpool U23s in PL2, alongside assistant Joe Edwards.

Lampard’s mission over the coming campaigns is to (finally) bridge the gap between the senior and youth sides, as well as delivering success for the first-team along the way.

It’s no easy task, but he’s already on his way to achieving the first objective, even if he is still hunting for his first competitive victory since he took the reins as Chelsea boss.

Lampard is keeping a close eye on the most exciting youngsters in his development side, with his presence at last night’s U23 game serving as evidence of that.

Lampard will have also seen Michy Batshuayi score twice and Antonio Rudiger keep a clean sheet, with both players being involved in hope of improving their fitness levels.

There’s plenty for him to think about ahead of our upcoming clash with Norwich City. Could either player have earned themselves a spot in the starting eleven?
