Frank Lampard has delivered some early team news ahead of tomorrow’s UEFA Super Cup clash with Liverpool.
The Blues meet Liverpool in Istanbul with a trophy on offer that we have only won once in our history, and that was way back in 1998.
We have been defeated twice since the turn of the decade, thus the players will have extra incentive to bring it home for the fans.
After Sunday’s 4-0 defeat to Manchester United, Lampard could be tempted to shake up his starting eleven for this fixture.
However, the Chelsea boss has confirmed that two players who are returning from injury will only be available from the bench.
Lampard confirmed this news during his pre-match press conference, as has been reported by Chelsea’s official Twitter account.
Lampard reports @willianborges88 and @ToniRuediger are here. Their fitness will continue to be worked on but they will be on the bench tomorrow. Lampard stresses the need to be careful with them. He is delighted they are here after helping us win in Europe last season. #SuperCup

We really don’t want to be rushing anyone back, even if we could do with their involvement in a game of this magnitude.
Their time will come, even if it’s not tomorrow.
