Frank Lampard challenges his Chelsea strikers to step up

Chelsea travel to Norwich tomorrow lunchtime for their next Premier League encounter, and The Blues will be desperate for that first three points.

Frank Lampard will want his side to be a lot more clinical in front of goal, compared to their last match, where they only managed a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

Chelsea dominated the very early stages of the match and realistically should have been 3-0 up inside 20 minutes.

But they missed some chances and the intensity dropped, allowing the visitors to get back into the match.

Lampard’s team ended up seeing the game out and lucky to get a point.

But now, the Blues legend has been asking for more from his strikers, or at least for one of them to step forward and take the bull by the horns.

Chelsea have been without that pinnacle figure up top since Diego Costa left, and they are desperate for that type of main man up top again.

Speaking to the media today, as reported by Goal journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Lampard has encouraged at least one of his three strikers to step forward. He said:

“Someone has to come to the front, hopefully.”

Nizaar suggested that this means the regular striker spot is still up for grabs at Chelsea.

It’s almost like he’s challenging them to step up. Let’s hope they do.
