David Luiz delighted with Arsenal life, wants to replicate Chelsea success

David Luiz has revealed that he is hoping to replicate the success he had during his time as a Chelsea player now he has signed for Arsenal, report talkSPORT.

Luiz’s Deadline Day switch to the Emirates raised eyebrows around the football world and broke hearts at Stamford Bridge. He was not the greatest defender we’ve ever had, but he was adored here.

Even without the promise of game-time under Frank Lampard, it hurt to think that Luiz saw a move to a direct rival as preferable to staying and fighting for his place at Chelsea.

He’s the enemy now, anyway. As soon as you sign for a rival, the love story is over, as a great man once said. Luiz appears to be very happy with life at Arsenal, too, which is all the more hard to stomach.

Luiz is quoted by talkSPORT revealing how welcome he has been made to feel in North London and that he is hoping to replicate the success he had while he was wearing a Chelsea shirt:

“It’s a new challenge for me [moving to Arsenal]. It’s my decision to make a new history in my life. I’m so happy to be here because since the first day the welcome has been amazing from everybody so I’m going to try and do my best to amazingly like I did with Chelsea.”

We can’t wait to ‘welcome’ him back to the Bridge later this season…
