Chelsea winger Willian, who was not included in the match day squad at Old Trafford, has been spotted boarding the plane to Istanbul ahead of the UEFA Super Cup.
The Brazilian suffered a hamstring injury while featuring in Copa America with Brazil and was subsequently ruled out of the competition’s final.
Willian did not play a part in Chelsea’s pre-season campaign as a result, with Pedro and Ross Barkley being elected our wide-men in the opening game of the season.
Christian Pulisic occupied the reserve option among the substitutes, with Willian clearly not being deemed fit enough to feature in the 18 for our trip to Manchester.
Could he be set to return tomorrow night as Chelsea take on Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup? We’ll have to wait and see, but he has travelled to Istanbul ahead of the game.
Chelsea posted the below video on Twitter of the players boarding the plane, and you can spot Willian’s afro a mile off. We now have to wait and see if he’ll be ready…
