“Chelsea will be dead interesting this season” – Former Blue insists Chelsea fans are in for a fascinating season

We all love Pat Nevin, but he sure gets around a bit.

Whether he’s popping up on a podcast or covering a game for BBC 5 Live, the former Chelsea winger is used as the voice of the Blues on all kinds of platforms, including the less illustrious LoveSport Radio.

It was on their platform that he spoke this morning, discussing Frank Lampard’s Chelsea and what fans can expect this season.

“As long as he gets the team to play fairly entertaining football, which I’m sure he will, it’ll be interesting,” the tricky winger said.

“Frank is not the kind of manager to park the bus. His attitude is about making it interesting. He’s a clever manager, and Chelsea will be dead interesting this season,” he went on.

Interesting is not always a good thing. It’s certainly interesting to go into a season with a new, almost rookie manager and a bunch of young players. Whether it ends up being enjoyable or simply painful, is a different question.

Still, it’s better than watching our prospects rot on the bench while big money flop signings pass it sideways on the pitch.
