Chelsea outcast’s Monaco return stalled

Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan move back to Monaco from Chelsea has stalled, according to RMC Sport.

The report states that Chelsea do not feel that Monaco will be able to pay the fee required at the end of the loan, in order to buy him back permanently.

The Daily Mail’s report on the same story states that Chelsea would be looking to get the £40 million back that they initially paid for the midfielder.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2017, but he has failed to cement a regular place in the Chelsea squad.

As a result he spent time on loan with AC Milan last season, and has become surplus to requirements this season under Frank Lampard.

Monaco would be a good move for him, and the report from RMC Sport states that his entourage are upset by the deal stalling.

All parties will hope though, that a deal can be completed under some sort of compromise.
