Chelsea defender reveals how he has bounced back from Man U errors

There was enormous excitement about Frank Lampard’s first game as Chelsea manager, even though it was away at Old Trafford, and the Blues did make a super strong start to the game.

All that was undone by a real clanger from defender Kurt Zouma however, and the Frenchman gave away the penalty that opened the floodgates for a 4-0 Red Devils win.

The defender has quotes on Goal.com which reveal that he was well aware of the errors he had made, and he explained the steps he had taken to overcome them.

“Myself, I knew I made mistakes in the first game,” the former St Etienne man admitted.

“After a game like this, you just have to refocus, keep the concentration high and then I think I did right after that by keeping myself ready and prepared.”

The centre back certainly performed a lot better against Leicester last time out, and he will be hoping to keep his place this weekend when he head to face Norwich on Saturday. That will become an increasingly difficult task, given that Antonio Rudiger is closing in on a return.

Once the German is back he will likely be restored to the starting lineup, and it will be between Andreas Christensen and Zouma for the final spot. Has he improved enough to reclaim it? We’ll find out soon enough.
