Chelsea could be without six first-team players for Manchester United trip

Chelsea’s full injury list as they travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United could stand at six first-team players, according to information reported by Football London.

Frank Lampard will no doubt have hoped for a more preferable opening day fixture in order to ease himself into life managing in the Premier League. Although, he did triumph at Old Trafford last season while in charge of Derby County.

The Chelsea legend will be going toe-to-toe with another club legend turned manager in the shape of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Both men will be desperate to get their campaigns off to a flying start with a win.

The situation isn’t looking ideal for Lampard ahead of the fixture, with Football London reporting that as many as six players, most of whom would usually be in contention for starting roles, are set to miss out on the game.

They are, per the report, Antonio Rudiger, N’Golo Kante, Willian, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James. Lampard will no doubt be hoping that all of them are able to recover in time for the busy schedule which lies in wake.
