Chelsea’s xG map during our clash with Leicester City shows just how evenly matched we are with Brendan Rodgers’ men – and how much of a concern that should be for us.
Leicester have invested well in the transfer market, and despite losing centre-back Harry Maguire to Manchester United, are expected to challenge for Europa League this term.
Chelsea, who will be playing Champions League football this season, will be wanting to qualify for the competition once again. That is always the bare minimum going into a season.
However, are we really cut out to challenge for top four at this point in time? The xG map, which often tells the whole story, from our clash with Leicester shows that they’re not far off us.

We’re inclined to be a little bit concerned, even if the best football that we’ll play under Frank Lampard is still in store. Do we have the personnel to launch a top four challenge?
