Callum Hudson-Odoi drops timely hint on Chelsea future

Has he, hasn’t he, is he or isn’t he? Some of the many questions asked about Callum Hudson-Odoi and his reported new Chelsea contract.

There has been many reports regarding Hudson-Odoi’s Chelsea contract situation, with the latest coming from The Sun, who say he’s about to sign a £200k-a-week deal with the Stamford Bridge club.

Nothing has been officially announced yet by Chelsea, and the saga continues.

However, Blues fans will be reassured by the 18-year old’s words on Friday evening, in an interview on the Chelsea FC website.

Hudson-Odoi was speaking fondly about an encounter with Samuel Eto’o at Stamford Bridge.

The winger was a ball-boy and held the hands of the Chelsea striker after he scored a hat trick against Manchester United in 2014. Callum was just 13 at the time.

He told the Chelsea website that he is keen to ‘keep going’ with Chelsea, hinting that he sees his future at Stamford Bridge.

He said:

“It’s the boyhood club I’ve always loved and played for, so I’ve always felt that that dream is there.

“Now I just want to carry on and keep going.

“If I score a goal and I see someone [ball boy] there, I’d definitely celebrate with them.

“For them it would be like a dream as well. They would feel like I felt at the time so that would be a chance for me to give back to them.”
