Breakout Chelsea star set to take things to the next level with international honour

Mason Mount will receive a callup for Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo next month, according the Daily Mail.

The midfielder has made an instant impact on Frank Lampard’s Chelsea team having arrived with the new manager from Derby this summer. He has started both of our Premier League games so far this season, and scored last weekend against Leicester.

James Maddison, who also shone in that game on Sunday at Stamford Bridge, is also set to be included. Both players were included in Gareth Southgate’s squad last October, but neither made their debut for their country.

Hopefully Mason takes the next step this time. With the progress he’s making, and the trust he’s getting from his manager, it’s just a matter of time before he gets to wear the three lions for real.

Let’s hope he can add to his case on Saturday against Norwich.
