West Ham showing interest in signing €40M-rated Chelsea flop this summer

Here’s something that we didn’t expect to be reporting on this Thursday morning…

According to the ever-reliable Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham are showing interest in signing Chelsea flop Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus this summer.

Higuain signed for Chelsea back in January, with Maurizio Sarri seeing him as the answer to our goal-scoring woes. Long story short, he wasn’t.

The Argentine has now returned to Juventus with his future uncertain. There doesn’t appear to be room for him in Turin, even with Sarri in charge.

Fear not, Gonzalo, a return to London could be on the cards, with… West Ham.

Di Marzio’s belief is that West Ham have proposed a loan deal to sign Higuain, but Juventus would rather receive their full asking price of €40M.

Whether they’d be prepared to pay that is one question, but would Higuain really be interested in making a move to the London Stadium this summer?

He’s played with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Eden Hazard. You have to think that he wouldn’t be interested in being flanked by Michail Antonio.
