West Ham join two more Premier League clubs in race for former Chelsea bad boy

West Ham United are exploring the possibility of signing former Chelsea striker Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid this summer, according to a report published by the Mirror.

Costa departed Chelsea back in September 2017, with his relationship with manager Antonio Conte becoming too poisonous to prolong in an already challenging dressing room.

He returned to Atletico Madrid, the club who he left to become a Chelsea player. After just four goals in 29 La Liga appearances, it’s safe to say that it didn’t prove to be a successful move.

The Mirror report that he could be set to leave Atletico this summer, with the Spanish giants already announcing the eventual permanent acquisition of former Blue Alvaro Morata.

One club that we didn’t expect to be seen linked with securing his services is West Ham, yet we should know to expect anything in football nowadays. The Mirror claim they’re interested.

Their report notes that both Everton and Wolves are also in the running. It remains to be seen whether any of them can successfully convince him to return to the Premier League this summer.
