The three Chelsea youngsters confirmed to be “getting a chance” on preseason tour

Chelsea are off on their preseason tour today, starting small with a trip across the Irish Sea to Dublin.

There are some players being excused because of their international duties, and others – like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger, are staying back at Cobham for injury rehab.

That’s opened some spaces up for young players to impress in the two upcoming friendlies, and Nizaar Kinsella has reported on three of those youngsters who will get a chance to prove they can wear the Blue shirt without any issues:

Frank Lampard knows Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori very well already, having managed them last season at Derby, so they have nothing to prove to him. They will get their chance, and if they play like they did in the Championship, they stand a great chance of being solid squad options for us all year.

Kenedy and Lucas Piazon are also going to be on the trip, but it seems less likely they play a role this season, with loans or permanent transfers on the horizon for them.
