The date that Chelsea players will begin returning to the Cobham training ground for pre-season has been clarified – and it’s truly on the horizon now!
With Frank Lampard widely expected to become Chelsea manager, our excitement for the commencement of pre-season has sky-rocketed.
Of course, we were looking forward to seeing the Blues back in action anyway, but the prospect of Lampard being the man leading them is utterly mouthwatering.
Thankfully, it doesn’t look as though we’ll have to wait much longer. According to @CarefreeYouth on Twitter, the players will begin to return this Friday.

As he notes, the staggered returns are due to players’ involvement in international tournaments, as well as any niggling injury issues that remain.
Thankfully, it’s not a European Championship or World Cup year, so we’ll have the full squad pretty early on. That’ll be a huge boost for Frank Lampard.
