Surprising rumours involving former Chelsea star and Manchester United arise in Spain

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been mentioned in an outrageous transfer between Manchester United and current club Real Madrid.

The report by Daily Star quotes Duncan Castles as saying that Real Madrid are strongly interested in signing Paul Pogba and their desperation for the France midfielder will see them offer Courtois in an exchange deal. Courtois only moved from Chelsea to Real last summer and there is little likelihood that Los Blancos will allow him to leave after only one season.

The Belgium goalkeeper did not have the best of first campaigns, but he is still one of the best shot-stoppers around, which makes the report seem unlikely.

Chelsea fans were angry Courtois left the club for Madrid last year and will be even more annoyed if he joins a direct rival this summer. According to Castles, Man United want £150 million for Pogba and with Real having spent millions this transfer window already, they are unlikely to splash anymore.
