The Daily Mail are reporting that Frank Lampard has chosen another member of staff to promote to his coaching team.
Eddie Newton will be promoted from his current role to a more active coaching position, according to the tabloid this afternoon.
Newton was a bit of a cult hero from his playing days at Stamford Bridge, but he was brought in to work as an assistant to Roberto Di Matteo. There are some pretty memorable shots of him celebrating the 2012 Champions League win.
More recently he has been in charge of the loan army and monitoring their progress. This will hopefully come into play as we look to integrate several of them into the first team under this transfer ban. Who better to get Frank up to speed on how they all did last time out than the man who was employed to monitor them for all of that time?
