While some players like young Billy Gilmour really impressed in our two friendly games, times were a little tougher for Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The Frenchman must have relished the idea of a fresh start under Frank Lampard, but sadly it seems to all be carrying on where he left off with Antonio Conte over a year ago.
His performance even against very limited opposition was weak, and fans on social media didn’t hesitate to lay into him, referring back to the dark days and insisting his time is up at the club.
We wouldn’t go that far, but it will be a long way back for him. There are a lot of better options in his position, and we’d be shocked it he wasn’t loaned by the end of the month.

Still a better option for depth than Barkley or Bakayoko

I bookmarked these tweets because I knew I was right and some fans gave me serious sticks for it. After this match, who wants Bakayoko to have second chance, raise your hand. pic.twitter.com/35BqKsCHyR

You can visablly see the lack of fluidity in the team with Bakayoko & Alonso in the team. I'm sorry.
Emerson was far more impressive at LB,
Kovacic? I need not speak it's obvious pic.twitter.com/FcCCl7tfVb— MAH (@matissearmani) July 13, 2019
Lmao Bakayoko is trash and always has been—him not being English has nothing to do with it

Bakayoko is still Bakayoko.
Surprised? Definitely not. Cash out on him when people still think he's good man, he's the definition of deadwood.
