“We would like to solve the coach’s question” – Petr Cech hints when Chelsea will secure next manager

Chelsea are still in the hunt for a new manager despite it being an open secret that former midfielder Frank Lampard will be the chosen man to replace Maurizio Sarri.

Lampard has been inked as the perfect replacement for the departed Italian manager who has joined Juventus this summer. Lampard took charge of Derby County in his first crack at management and was quickly accepted by the Rams faithful.

He guided them to the playoff final against Aston Villa where they lost, but his fame shot up due to the attacking style he implemented and at times pragmatic approach he adopted to go past top rivals.

Having been identified as the right man to lead Chelsea, the Blues have taken huge steps in signing their all-time top goalscorer and Derby announced on Monday that they have allowed him to begin discussions with the Premier League giants.

Petr Cech, who was also brought back to the club this summer as a technical and performance advisor, after retiring from professional football, maintains Chelsea will confirm their new manager before they begin pre-season training on Wednesday.

“The club has identified some of the coaches they are dealing with. The situation is open, Frank is one of the candidates. I could speak about all the candidates with the leadership, they know my ideas.

The first team will start the preparation, by that time we would like to solve the coach’s question.
