It was confirmed earlier this week in places like the BBC that Ethan Ampadu has joined RB Leipzig on loan for the season.
Journalists like Nizaar Kinsella later clarified the details that there was no option to buy in the deal. That’s a vital detail, because the youngster is a true top tier talent, and giving the German side the chance to buy him – at any price – would be very risky.
RB Leipzig have no option to buy on Ethan Ampadu's loan. Obviously, he is very highly rated by Chelsea boss Frank Lampard. #CFC #RBL

Kinsella points out that Ampadu is “highly rated” by new Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, who would not have considered ever putting a purchase clause in by all accounts.
Ampadu needs this opportunity to develop after a season stagnating on the bench, and he will not get a better spot to grow than Leipzig. Not only are they known for playing and developing young players, they also are competing in the Champions League this season.
If he can battle his way to regular minutes in that competition, he will return to Chelsea better equipped for first team action than most, and next season could finally be his breakthrough in Blues.
